Monday’s Muse – Writer’s Tip

The best advice for writing came from my brother-in-law more than 30 years ago. He received this same advice from his Harvard Professor. Don’t write and edit simultaneously. Let your creative mind get it all down first. Then you can apply your critical mind to editing your work. I like to use the metaphor – Writing and editing at the same time is like driving with your feet on both the gas and the brake. You’ll never get anywhere – or get there at a snail’s pace.
